Text from Mark, the earliest Gospel c.70, includes programmatic stories that define Jesus’ ministry. Here especially is Jesus’ mission statement already in 1:14, already having been filled with the Spirit of God in his baptism. Nonetheless, his reception was rebuffed from the beginning.
