This important text recounts the final plagues and the first Passover. God’s judgment upon the Egyptians, God’s “hardening” of Pharoah’s heart, and the consequent freedom for the Israelites, was to demonstrate that Israel’s God is the only true God — see 12:12 “I am the LORD” (ego dns — “dns” being the Latin abbreviation for “dominus” or Lord; second to last line, first column. on this leaf. LORD/YHWH is the given Name of Israel’s God from Exodus 3, YHWH in Hebrew.
