Description
PSALM 93:1-5 (complete) = Psalm 93 in the Latin Vulgate. “The Lord reigns” (v.1, Initial “D” in Dominus/Lord). Manuscript, date unknown, presumably 19th century, on creamy vellum, artistically rendered around the phrase “The floods have lifted up their voice” (v.3), depicted in miniature within the Initial “D”. Large size: 17″ X 17″, illuminated edges 13″ x 12″. Meticulously illuminated in GOLD; painted in GREEN, ROSE, RED, and BROWN. Remnants of tape to edges where previously attached to boards. EXCELLENT condition overall; ink is strong and sharp; vellum has contracted a bit around the text; very clean, without tears. Suitable for framing. Biblical art illumination depicting the majesty of God in creation. Explanatory card of artist’s intent is included.
