PHILIPPIANS 1:1-2:28 (title). “Hymn to Christ” (2:5-11). Printed in Geneva by John Crispin, 1568. 2nd quarto ed., smaller than the 1560 first ed. but with all “essential parts” the same. 8.25″ x 5.25″. Reference: Herbert 130. [Three title dates were used in this identical edition: 1568, 1569, 1570; but I have separated the 1568 leaves from the 1569 leaves, noting their title date.] Ruled-in-red. FINE- condition. Moderate soiling and staining (see pics). A rare date to find. After the 1568-70 edition, the next wasn’t until the small folio of 1576 (10″ x 7″), also a very desirable date/ed. The text here is the most famous hymn from the early church.
