Description

1 CORINTHIANS 14:23-15:50. “Resurrection From the Dead!” (Chap. 15). FIRST EDITION. “She” variant, the first editor’s correction. Printed in 1611, likely published between 1611-1613, in London, by Robert Barker. Herbert 319. This folio leaf is slightly distinct from the 1611 “He” variant (uncorrected), the 1613 72-line folio, the 1617 folio and all other 59-line folio editions. In FINE- condition; a few small spots, and a light crease to upper quadrant, and repaired micro-tears (closed, not noticable) to upper margin (see pics); w. 1 WOODCUT initial. Good margins. COA on premium “gold leaf” paper w. signature and seal. Leaf and COA set in a museum-quality Archival Booklet w. archival sleeves for long-term conservation. Size: 15.25″ x 10″. Text is the earliest written account of Jesus’ resurrection and appearances to the apostles (differing somewhat from the Gospel accounts), as well as Paul’s most extensive theological statement of the resurrection as a demonstration of the new creation. Scholars surmise that the oral confession of faith recounted in 15:3-7 likely dates from c.33-35. Includes Priority Shipping.
