DEUTERONOMY 11:6-12:19. “A Blessing and a Curse” (11:26). FIRST EDITION. “She” variant (printer’s first editorial correction). Printed in 1611, but likely published between 1611-1613, in London, by Robert Barker. Herbert 319. This leaf is slightly distinct from the 1611 “He” variant, the 1613 72-line folio, and the 1617, 1634, and 1640 folio editions. EXCELLENT- condition w. 1 WOODCUT initial. Uncorrected chapter heading “Chap.viij” for “Chap.xj” [=Chap.11]. COA on premium “gold leaf” paper w. signature and seal. Leaf and COA set in a museum-quality Archival Booklet. This important leaf recalls the necessity to “bind” the Word of God upon one’s heart and to acknowledge that they are both a blessing (of God’s promises; see 11:18) and a “curse” (having to do them; see 11:26).
