Description

RUTH 1:10-3:9. “Intreat mee not to leave thee!” (1:16). FIRST EDITION. “She” variant (printer’s first editorial correction). Printed in 1611, but likely published between 1611-1613, in London, by Robert Barker. Herbert 319. This leaf is slightly distinct from the 1611 “He” variant, the 1613 72-line folio, and the 1617, 1634, and 1640 folio editions. EXCELLENT condition; with 2 WOODCUT initials. The book of Ruth recounts the charming story whereby Ruth, the Moabite, becomes an Israelite by marriage to Boaz. Ruth, thereby, became a grandmother to David. In this text, Ruth begs Naomi not to send her away back to her own people (1:16). COA on premium “gold leaf” paper w. signature and seal. Leaf and COA set in a museum-quality Archival Booklet. Price includes Priority Shipping.
