ROMANS 3:19-7:21. “The Faithful-righteousness of God” [Eng trans 3:19-21a]. Medium-size mss. 8.0″ x 5.5″, handwritten and illuminated in England or possibly France, c.1325-c.1350; English Textualis (variant IV) based on extended use of ‘box’ a w. double bow a after e and abbrev i, short descenders p and q, and Uncial d. Lack of ornamentation may indicate Iberian provenance. FINE+ condition; small chip to inner edge (see pics); doodle (“rerum”) to upper margin, recto. Full margins. Leaf and COA set in a medium Bifold Portfolio. Leaf contains several central texts from Paul’s most important letter! Note that the majority of manuscripts are of smaller size, about 6″ x 4″, and are found under the Trifold Portfolio Category.
