At the very start of Paul’s most expansive theological letter, he sets out the gospel in 1:2-4 and applies it to Jews and Gentiles alike in v.16. The gospel is powerful because it frees those who trust in Christ from any concern about the coming judgment. In a happy twist, Acts 28 recounts Paul’s final years in Rome, proclaiming the gospel in fulfillment of his calling (1:1, 15).
