JEREMIAH 1:7-2:36. “The Calling of a Prophet” (1:7-9). FIRST EDITION. Great “She” Bible variant. Printed in 1611, published/titled 1611-1613, in London, by Robert Barker. Herbert 319. This leaf, being a printer’s “correction” (spelling, spacing, and woodcut variations), is slightly distinct from the 1611 “He” variant, and distinct from all other folio editions. EXCELLENT condition; (see pics), with one (1) WOODCUT initial. 15.25″ x 10.0″. COA on premium “gold leaf” paper w. signature and seal. Leaf and COA set in a museum-quality Archival Booklet. This important leaf announces God’s selection of Jeremiah to be his mouth-piece (1:9), though but a “youth” (1:7), and gives him the words of the Lord to announce. Scholars see in this opening chapter a model that, quite possibly, Paul the apostle applied to himself. Price includes Priority Shipping.
