Description

1 CORINTHIANS 6:18-7:20. “Bought With a Price” (6:20). King James, New Testament. Printed in London by Robert Barker, 1612. First Black Letter Small Quarto Edition, single column. This rare edition exactly duplicates the text of the 1611 folio “He” edition. 7.5″ x 5.5″. Herbert 318. FINE condition; closed fold to lower corner, barely noticeable (see pics). A very hard to find edition! COA on premium “gold leaf” paper w. gold seal. Note: See pictured colophon page d.1612, not included. In this text, Paul understands that God’s holiness mysteriously resides in our bodies which were “bought with a price”, mixing a metaphor from the slave-market with one from Temple veneration. Paul thinks very highly of our bodies (in Christ)! Leaf and COA set in a museum-quality Bifold Portfolio, 12″ x 9″ closed.
