Description

GALATIANS 1:1-11 plus 2 Corinthians 13. “Grace and Peace” (1:1). King James, New Testament. Printed in London by Robert Barker, 1612. First Black Letter Small Quarto Edition, single column. This rare edition exactly duplicates the text of the 1611 folio “He” edition. 7.5″ x 5.5″. Herbert 318. Flowered Woodcut. FINE- condition; light stains to outer margins; long half-moon closed fold, printed over, affecting 1-3 lines at bottom (see pics). A very hard to find edition! COA on premium “gold leaf” paper w. gold seal. Note: See pictured colophon page d.1612, not included. In this Galatians text, Paul is outraged at the Galatians are wanting “another gospel” (1:6-7) than the one he announced to them, thus denying the grace of God in Christ. In 2 Cor 13:4, Paul sets before the Corinthians his own “gospel” of participation in the Messiah/Christ. Leaf and COA set in a museum-quality Bifold Portfolio, 12″ x 9″ closed.
