Description
Old Testament. Random leaf. King James, 1617, 2nd FOLIO edition (counting the two 1611 variations, “He” and “She,” as one edition), 59 lines per column and nearly identical to the 1611 edition of any type. The differences are in the spacing and spelling of certain words, as well as the exact initial woodcuts used at the beginning of each chapter (some needed to be replaced). The census of extant Bibles is: 1611 “He”, about 175 copies; 1611 “She” about 450 copies; 1617 about 200 copies. While the number of extant 1617 Bibles is about the same as the “He” version, and about half as many as the “She” version, demand dictates price.
