MARK 1:1-16:12. “First Written Gospel”. 8 leaf-set from The King James Bible, Printed in London by Norton and Bill, 1621 [NT title and colophon: Anno Dom. M.DC.XXI). Quarto size: 8.5″ x 6.5″. Reference: Herbert 379. Full headlines and margins. FINE condition overall; light to moderate smudges to outer margins. The Mark 12 leaf (only) contains some marginal notes (see pics). This 8 Leaf-set contains all Mark’s original Gospel – scholars agree that original Mark ends at 16:8. Other verses were added a generation later to conform with the other Gospels. COA on “gold leaf” premium paper w. signature and gold seal. Leaves are tightly held together in original binding. The Leaf-set sets in a 10″ x 8″ black archival box for preservation.
