PSALMS 119:132-135:5 [Lat. 118-134]. “Our Help is in the Name of the LORD” (Eng. trans. Ps. 124:8, various). Handwritten and illuminated in Paris, France; Painter & Assoc. Workshop, c.1245. Unnumbered psalms (or chapters), separated by red rubrics. On fine, very thin vellum, uncut margins, 6″ x 4″. Red and Blue full-length scrolling pen-work alongside both double-columns. Unnumbered, with 12 medium-sized initials and 142 smaller initials. EXCELLENT+ condition; very light handling to outer bottom corner; several pin-holes visible only when held to the light (see pics). COA on premium “gold leaf” paper w. gold seal. An exceptionally fine example of a “pocket bible” suitable for carrying on the Crusades, particularly due to the 150+ painted initials!
