Two scrolling initials in Red and Blue, left columns. Rubricated throughout, 47 lines per col., 9 lines per inch. Red painted edge. EXCELLENT condition; strong ink; shaved lower margin; a few marginal notes (see pics). COA on premium “gold leaf” paper w. gold seal. A fine example of an early “pocket bible” suitable for carrying on the Crusades. Text includes the ugly, idolatrous scene of the “Golden Calf” built by Aaron, just as Moses was upon Mount Sinai receiving the Two Tables of the Law “written by the finger of God”.
