LUKE 4:42-6:33. “Beatitudes & Woes” (Ch 6). Produced and Illuminated on medium thick vellum, most likely in the Netherlands, c.1275. With full headings but a shaved inner margin; edges browning. Size: 7″ x 4.5″. Two scrolling initials in Red and Blue, taking up most of the columns. With two very rare (2) “pointing hands/fingers” pointing to the Beatitudes in Ch 6, as well as a few marginal notations. FINE+ condition; see pics. COA on premium “gold leaf” paper w. gold seal. A very fine example of a “pocket bible” or traveling Bible. Text recounts Jesus’ “Sermon on the Plain” with The Beatitudes’ Blessed verses and Woe verses.
