1660 Bible. Octavo. RARE. All original. OT and NT (1660), Whole Book of Psalms (1663), All Title pages intact. Printed in London by Henry Hills (OT), Henry Hills and John Field (NT). Ruled-in-RED throughout. Reference: Wing B3618aA. Appears complete in every respect. Hand inscribed by original owner, Elizabeth Fabian, w. signature; unknown poems (front and back fly leaves) by Joseph Fabian. All signatures and poems look to be in the same hand. Original tarnished clasps (not working). Original bosses and center pieces with Fabian family coat of arms (front and back); one boss and one side of a clasp present but unattached; could be attached by an expert. In total: 8 bosses, 4 clasps and 2 center pieces; untested metal. Tight original binding. Pages gilted on edges, though fading. A superior example of this highly personal, RARE Bible. Pictures appear washed out, but originals are clear and sharp.
