RARE Medieval Latin Psalter manuscript (pre-Gutenberg) on fine vellum, hand-written, illuminated, painted, penned, and produced in Germany, c.1430. Travel-size: uncut 4.2″ x 3.0″. With two (2) RED & BLUE & GOLD initials, scrolling the length of the leaf on both sides; 14 smaller initials in Red and Blue. EXCELLENT condition overall, nicely penned (see pics). Manuscript contains the whole of PSALM 23 (English numbering). The Shepherd’s Psalm is the most well-loved psalm and the most popular OT leaf apart from Genesis 1. Manuscript and COA set in a museum-quality Tri-fold Portfolio with archival sleeves. An excellent example and important text of a late medieval (personal use) pre-Gutenberg psalter.
