Two scrolling initials in Red and Blue, left of columns. Rubricated throughout, 47 lines per col., 9 lines per inch. Red painted edge. EXCELLENT condition; strong ink; shaved lower margin, into the extended marginal notes to 18:14 (not a correction); see pics. COA on premium “gold leaf” paper w. gold seal. A fine example of an early “pocket bible” suitable for carrying on the Crusades. Text recounts the establishment of the Aaronic priesthood wherein the Levitical priests bear the “iniquity” of the people of Israel, that is, their “sin” before God.
