With 115 hand painted initials, very fancy, multicolored, contemporary with this 1482 printing. This Leaf-set, or “fragment,” contains 14 Letters and Epistles (complete, in the order of the Latin Bible): Romans, 1 & 2 Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, 1 & 2 Thessalonians, 1 & 2 Timothy, Titus, Philemon, and Hebrews. [Note that the TITLE page for this set is at the front of the book, even tho the picture comes last.] These are the EARLIEST parts of the the New Testament, those from Paul originally dating from c.50-55 AD. Bound covers in 1/4 calf-leather (black) and sumptuous red silk moire, the leaves resewn into the binding. Stunning in appearance and in content, with 115 truly fabulous multi-colored initials, many surpassing anything I have ever seen before! Sets in a Black Archival Box.
